Sugar Glider Squirrels - Breeding
Sugar Glider Squirrels are very social animals and can make good pets. They usually bond with their owners, and strive for their attention. You may consider keeping one more Gliders. It is recommended to raise a pair of the same sex from a young age.
Mating normally occurs in late autumn or early winter. One or two young stay in the mother's pouch until they reach the age of around three months. Then, the young are left in the nest under the protection of the male. In the mean time, the female are busy with searching for food.
Sugar Glider Squirrels - Diet
Sugar Glider Squirrels should have a varied diet in order to avoid problems with teeth. These animals will do well on a diet consisting of vegetables and nuts, various fresh and dried fruits. They also eat mealworms, crickets, fresh branches, leaves, flowers of eucalypt and some other native trees. Sugar Glider Squirrels - Handling Basics
It is better to avoid frequent handling Sugar Glider Squirrels. Sugar Gliders should not be touched or handled by their tail. The fur tends to strip off, which may result in its dying. Also, mind that the animal's teeth and claws are extremely sharp. Inexperienced handlers should wear special gloves in order not to get injured by their Sugar Glider Squirrels.
